Tekken 5 amazing Student Print ads

From browsing Ihaveanidea i found these sample ads for tekken 5 based on the idea of customization. I think the ads are pretty cool and really a fresh take on all advertising for Tekken games. it's really nice to see quality student work.

man... what are you doing in this business ? you don't get my point. there is NO concept behind these ads. The guy took existing pictures and pasted other images on top. The idea is that its customizable... that's very weak.

look at all the other ps ads that are out there. they have concepts/ideas behind them, where this one doesn't at all.

You just like the nice graphics... but that DOES NOT make the ad good.

"Dig in to the most customizable tekken game ever! Earn fight money and use your winnings to outfit your characters with shades, hats, alternate costumes, and secret items and more."

The fact that you can now change the characters, endings and more in a game and a genre that's old, is big. The characters are old, so anything to make them 'new' is good. You underestimate why people will want to buy this game, instead of say, Dead or Alive or KoF. It adds to replay value. Customization helps move games off the shelves.

Like it or not, this ad would make me buy the game and isn't that the point.

Hey. I'm the Art director for this ad. Thanks for the comments. In coming up with the idea we were thinking as gamers, what would make us buy this game if we already own previous versions. The truth is, most games dont really change that much from version to version. Especially Tekken. They might add a new character here and there, new backgrounds, but that's it. What makes this version different is the physical customization of the characters. So we went for that.

Thanks...

So what if he grabbed images from the website. If you want to go down that road, you're a ripoff artist because you didn't build your own computer and code your own browser to access this page. Hack!
